I survived a Myringotomy,Tympanotomy or whatever it is called!

AND SO DID ZACH!!!

Well, we have been pretty quiet about talking about what we did Friday morning, mostly because I personally could not talk about it without getting choked up. But, with a lot of thought and a swift decision, our little guy went through with the surgery. So long ear infections - HELLO SUMMER!!

What a champ!! As usual, we got through this chapter and Zach suprised us once again. We are definitely ready to move on to bigger and better.

The day after surgery... and hearing much better I might add.

In other news - Zachary is almost 19 pounds. Whew! We never thought we would get to the 19 lb mark. He has his one year appointment in three weeks and the "GOAL" is to make it to 19lbs 14 oz - don't you love statistics and growth charts! This means he would triple his birth weight. Oh how the year has gone by so fast!

Zachary's friend Abby stopped by over the weekend. Here is a picture of Zach and Abby when they were just a couple weeks old:

And here is a picture at nearly one year!

Lastly, we have a child obsessed with chicken and pole dancing. If Josh were home right now he wouldn't let me post this next picture - but that's what he gets for working so late!! HA HA

Alright and one more for good luck!!!

Almost one year - so bittersweet.

Da da day

My Fathers Day started on Saturday when Randi, Zach and I went to Huntington Beach to hang out. We went to good old Freds, where you can get a 25 plus ounze Bud Light for $4. I only had one since I have to be a responsible driver. Randi on the other hand is a different story.... Just kidding.. We didn't stay too long because Zachy was getting tired, tired of eating his favorite Avacado, and it felt like there was some mini Tornado where we were sitting - so we left. We still had a fun time.

Woke up Sunday morning at the standard 6 a.m. While walking down our hallway, I see two pictures on our wall (Zachy and me) that Randi made. Check them out below.

Also, Randi left some presents for me from Zachy and her - some gear (clothes) and a pair of shoes, which are pretty smooth. We then headed up to TO (sorry Terrell Owens, "TO" only has one meaning in my mind since you left Phila to be on the pathetic Cowboys). In TO, grandma and grandpa (aka "monkey") had a baby pool waiting for Zachy in their backyard. We all put on our bathing suits and spent the day in the sun, with grandpa sweating his !@#$% off cooking everybody some mean old burgers These badboys were tasty. Zachy liked the baby pool, except for Aaron (aka "bear") shooting water out of pistol aimed at Zachy's back. Zach had no idea where it was coming from. We then moved to the jakuzzi where Zach was splashing away.

It was a great first Fathers Day.
It then took us 5 hours to get home. Not fun.

Another Ear Infection and Another Day at the Lagoon

So, we finally hit the magic number of ear infections and its time for the ENT referral. If it comes down to it, I really don't know how I will find the strength to take my little baby to the hospital. I recently decided that breastfeeding is a sham. They say to breastfeed for at least 6 months to help prevent ear infections. I did it for 28 weeks (and I counted). I feel like i did everything I could for him. If I could do more I would, trust me. If my boss didn't buzz me every time I pumped, I would've done it until he was 5! He didn't get his first ear infection until March and it has been downhill, non-stop ever since. If anyone has any ENT referrals in Orange County, please email me, otherwise we are headed to Dr. Ajujah. We hear he is one of the best. I am really looking forward to this visit, as Zach is already scared out of his mind as we enter the doctor's office.

As usual, the kid recovers like a champ (as Josh would say). We headed over to the infamous lagoon and enjoyed the afternoon enjoying our wonderful baby. We really do enjoy the hell out of him when he is healthy.. which has been (since March) on average of one weekend a month .

And We're Cruising

Zachary made a new friend over the last few days - himself. He loves sitting in the mirror and giving himself kisses. He also started "cruising" around the house which means no more turning our backs, even for a second. His favorite things to do are push open our front screen door and go outside, pull himself up onto the trashcan (yuck!) and dropping his favorite yellow highlighter in the bin on the side of the fridge.
