You have got to be kidding me...

For those of you who follow the blog closely, you may have realized that it has been 10 days since the last post. Some of you may be asking yourrself "Has Randi finally come down to earth and gone off the deep end?" Others might be thinking that I have fallen asleep due to exhaustion and can not wake up. Those of you smarty pants out there might have thought "Has Josh taken the blog away from Randi?" Well you are all wrong. I have, however, finally come back down to earth. Josh and I are definitely tired but it's not as bad as we thought it would be. And no, Josh has not taken the blog away from me, Zachary's mouth has been permanently attached to my boob the last week. He is going through some sort of growth spurt, I believe (and my reading material tells me). Here is the schedule thus far:
Thursday August 30, 2007

2:30 AM - 4 oz given by daddy (he is amazing...helpful, wonderful... so good with Zach)
5:00 AM - The grunting and tossing and turning begins. You have got to be kidding me. 4 oz should last longer than this. I get up and feed him.
7:00 AM - Zach took a short nap to wake up yet again as if he has never eaten before.
10:00 AM - I am trying to get ready for lunch with my friends and he eats on and off until 11:00
1:00 PM - Had a successful lunch with my friends Robyn and Allyson (no crying at all, get home in the nick of time for another feeding.
2:30 PM - My friend Michelle stops by and we have to give him another 1.5 oz.

No posts in 10 days. That's why!

Enjoy our bundle of joy. The proud parents think he is getting cuter each day.

Rolling Over

Zachary is figuring out how to roll over. How the peacful days of the little king resting on a pillow have quickly come and gone. He is already on the move! I apologize in advance for my excitement in this video. I am clearly very much enjoying the scene. The other picture is what occured in a matter of minutes while I was getting dressed this morning.

BARE WITH ME

I have been wanting to do a post for several weeks, but, I didn't know how. Over the past weeks, Randi has told me several times on how to create a post, but, not out of the ordinary, I kept forgetting. Randi told me again last night and I have decided that I will not forget. It's actually pretty simple. Just an e-mail address and a password. Anyhow, were at the one month mark with little Zach and lots of things have developed. My hottie piscati wife has covered most of it (refer to the other posts). But, there is one thing that she did not cover in detail, that is, the circumsision. Man, this was pretty tough to watch. It all went down at our home (8 days after birth). I was sweating big time. Sure, I was nervous about what was going to happen to Zach, but, it was also pretty warm in our home given the amount of people that showed up. Down to the details: The doctor (Dr. Duel) does a great explanation of the meaning of the Bris. Then, he has Randi and I say some prayers and Randi explains the significance of Zach's hebrew name - which I just forgot - and Zach's middle name, David. Now, it's game time. The doc whips out a sharp blade (similar to what you use at Kinkos when you want to slice a document to the size you want) and off it goes - Zach's foreskin. I cringed. Zach handled it great. Sure, he was doped up on Tylenol and had some numbing medicine but he cried for only 2 seconds. After this all went down, the doc tells Randi and I that we can burry the foreskin in our backyard. What???? Well, we still have not burried the foreskin yet. We can't even get our flowers to grow. Overall, the Bris was an amazing experience. And for Randi to be Zach's moma, and my wife - even more amazing. As said by "eric the midget" (from the Howard Stern show) by for now.

1 month old

I am not really sure if the last month has gone by fast. At first, I feel like it has, but when I really think about it, it feels like an eternity. Zach is doing great. We usually get at least a four hour sleep stretch from him. We are starting to know the difference between "Mom, where is your boob, " and "Hey stupid, just pick me up." When we don't have him swaddled, he turns to sleep on his side, and today he rolled from his stomach, back onto his back. We were fascinated! He is going through a small baby acne phase right now, so I have limited visiting hours. Just Kidding!! He is becoming a real little person and we are having so much fun watching him grow. Tonight was our first outing.. Lampost Pizza!! What a treat. Zach asked us for a sip of beer. How could we say no to that face?

Tinkle Tinkle

My favorite baby gadget...

Zach & Abby

Zachary had his first brief playdate last nite. He was more concerned about eating than playing. Abigail Claire (Eric and Leah's daughter) came over. Leah was due on July 22, and I was due on July 30. Well, the babies dedcided to be born 4 hours apart from one another. The boys woudln't have it any other way.

Hanging in There

Zachary is taking a nap right now and since we only had to wake up once last night, I decided NOT to take a nap with him. Probably not the smartest move on my part but I am taking my chances. A lot has happened in one week. When we left the hospital, Zachary only weighed 6 lbs, 5, oz. At our two week appointment, he had already gained 11 oz and was up to 7lbs, 20.5 inches. Josh thinks Zach looks like he has a beer belly, how appropriate right? He is sleeping very well, started enjoying bath time and has mommy wrapped around her finger. He is one spoiled little fella.
