We've got a jumper!

We thought it was really cute when Zach started getting on top of our coffee table. Then when he stood on top of it, we told him no but still couldn't help a small chuckle. Well... next time we won't laugh so hard. Now we have a climber and a jumper. Maybe if we move the couch, it won't be so easy.

Little Devil

Our friends Marisa and James got married last weekend. We had a lot of fun celebrating with them. Here's a big fat Mazel Tov to you both!! We hope you are enjoying your honeymoon.

I wish Jenny McCarthy was an MD!

WARNING: This might be a long post...
Before I get too much critiscm, I should re-phrase by saying that I am SO tired of her making me crazy, second guess my decisions, and just plain worry ALL the time. I swear she always says "something" to say just days before Zach is scheduled for his next set of shots. I should also say that I read and consider everything she says but where do you draw the line between listening to a celebrity tell her incredible journey or listening to your doctor and just trust that everything is going to be ok. By all means, it IS their JOB! I just wish she was actually a doctor - and this debate would be so much easier. I have heard horror stories about the MMR shot and I am terrified to give it to Zach. But do we risk putting it off and put him on a plane for 5 hours and risk infection? We had a reality check yesterday... we had to take Zach to urgent care because it appeared that he twisted or sprained his ankle. After checking in and paying our co-pay, I hear another mother say "I think my son might have chickenpox. He has a spot here and here..." you get the idea. Zach simultaneoulsy started walking (and running) like nothing ever happened. I had to decide what was riskier, getting his foot checked for piece of mind or risk getting the chickenpox. We left, Zach's foot is fine and hopefully chickenpox free. I really don't want him to get the chickenpox but I realized if he did - it would be one less shot I had to worry about - HA!! The IRONY!!

On to Sukkot! We had dinner in a sukkah on Thursday night. Josh and I looked at eachother and realized that we had not celebrated Sukkot since we were in Hebrew School. It was a beautiful night and we had a lot fun chasing Zach around and eating our $14.00 hotdogs.

Where is Zach?

Happy New Year and Happy Sukkot (is it even appropriate to say Happy Sukkot)? Anyways, the good 'ol JCC is closed and so we sucked it up and left Zach with Grandma and Grandpa for three days. He is having a great time (or so we hear!). I love how much he always eats with my mom - it is music to my ears. I miss him dearly but Josh and I are having a lot of fun and getting some much needed R & R. It has been about two years since I have had a worry free day (since my worrying began they day I found out I was pregnant) and I forgot how good it feels. I wish I didn't wake up in the middle of the night franticly looking for him as I did in the early months of Zach's life when I was having "Baby in Bed dreams".

Before we dropped him off, Zach started doing some funny things. He wanted to sit in the book/magazine rack that Uncle Eric Kaufman got him when he was born. He fit in it just perfectly. He was not amused when Josh tried to take it away.

He also started doing sign language and saying "ALL DONE" at the same time when he is done eating. We are always amazed at the things he picks up at daycare. Finally, (I know - this is big week), he is back to giving giving big kisses. Josh can say "Give mama a kiss," and he will walk over to me and give me a huge, slobbery kiss. I love it. I can hardly wait to pick him up tomorrow! How could one not look forward to seeing this face?

BBB

Zach has started to say some words recently (other than Dadda and Momma). He now says "ball," "book," and "bullshi (t is silent). Yep, that's right, bullshi. We never curse in front of Zach other than the occasional "crap," maybe once in a while "shit," but we have no clue where he picked up "bullshi." He's been saying it a lot. In addition to words, Zach is starting to understand questions and will respond. For example, he knows what bath, milk, where is, outside, dog, blanket, book, ball, baby, and banana is. He is becoming a very samrt little man. Zach has become fixated on stirring liquid substances with a straw or utensil. I really believe he may become some kind of witch when he gets older, or maybe a chemist. We went to our second (really our first since Zach is not a baby) services this year for Rosh Hashana. The services were basically us trying to keep Zach from running up steps and keeping him from eating the plants. Other than that, I'm happy we went. Very relaxing.... We also went to the Pumpkin Patch this past weekend and we watched the Eagles with Zach's buddy, Abby. The Eagles lost again. And our Future Little Dancer...

Volleyball Anyone?

We headed down to Crystal Cove last weekend and had lunch at a cute little restaraunt called The Beachcomber.

It was nice because it felt like we were on vacation but in actuality, we were only a short 15 minute drive away. Zach loved the sand and looking at the water. We loved how the french fries and crayons kept Zach busy while we enjoyed a glass of wine on the beach. Meanwhile, it looked like Zach was having a pretend game of volleyball all by himself.

Next on the agenda... A pumpkin patch - stay tuned!

Zach also FINALLY reached 20 pounds. So we happily turned his car seat around and pulled out his size 6 month clothes he now fits in... (ha ha)
