What's happening to my wife?

Last night, about 11:45 p.m., Randi wakes up in a panic, she quickly gets out of bed, then turns on her night stand light (at this point, I literally thought I was under attack by rockets). I look to my right, and see Randi looking through the sheets, saying "where's the baby?" I'm like what the hell is going on. I say huh? She then snaps out of it and gets into bed. Randi then tells me that she thought Zach was in our bed. At this point, I'm too tired to talk about what just happened and we both go back to sleep. Apparently, this phenomenon is not uncommon among women. Taken from an internet site, "Between 88% and 91% of women in all groups recalled dreams and nightmares. A very common nightmare is one Nielsen calls "baby in bed." The mother dreams the infant has been lost in the bed and searches through the covers. She often weeps or speaks out loud. When she awakens, she realizes the baby is not in bed but often feels driven to get up and check on the baby." THIS HAPPENS ATLEAST ONCE A WEEK WITH RANDI.

Real quick story about what happened to me last week. I'm dreaming about being behind home plate at a Giants baseball game. Barry Bonds is talking to the fans in my section. He throws a ball (as a souvenier) to the area I was sitting in. I dive to my right to try to get the ball. In doing this, I literally dive out of my bed and hit my left forehead on my night stand. Randi didn't know what to think about what just happened. I ignore putting ice on my head. I wake up with a bump on my head and it is red. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?

As for Zach, well, he's probably dreaming about boobs, farts, and goodnight moon.

Enjoy the latest pics.

My mom says Zach looks like ME!!

Here are two baby pictures of me when I was a baby. My mom sent them to me tonight and said Zach looks like me... yay!!! Tomorrow, she will call me and tell me he looks just like Josh. She changes her mind every day.

Recent Developments

I never thought I would be the type of person to put Zach on a schedule (ya, right who am I kidding). It's funny because no one puts their baby on a schedule.. they do it for you; you just have to be aware of the cues. Well, our little one is starting to make Mommy's job much easier. Thanks to my mom's help, We are now getting at least one hour long nap in the morning and at least a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon, at almost precisely the same time every day.

Zach is talking up a storm all of a sudden. He really likes going over the vowel sounds with me. He stares at my mouth and tries to imitate what I am doing but instead just ends up smiling.

He has also found his darn fingers over the last week. I guess it is a soothing mechanism but instead of waking up to a cry in the middle of the night, we wake up to a rabid sucking noise. He knows I hate when he does it...here is a picture of him knowing he is in trouble.

He can also hold his head up pretty well now. Still a few head butts here and there, but he is getting much stronger.

Finally, the smiling is non-stop and of course contagious.

First Laughs

While I was away at UCI on Saturday, Zachary got to spend the entire day with Daddy! Daddy noticed that when he stuck his tongue out, Zachary started laughing. We thought it was as fluke, but once I got home, Josh showed me and sure enough, he did it again. Still in disbelief, we showed my dad this morning! My dad confirmed that we were getting real laughs out of Zach. Just for kicks, we made him do it again tonight. Here goes...

Relaxing at the Park

I started taking Zach on walks this week. On the way back, we sit on a blanket and relax at the park. He is so happy and relaxed.

I love visitors!

Zach is quite the little ham. He loves attention. Recently Auntie Melissa and Uncle Aaron came to visit. No, they didn't come together.. but I think they had a thing once in Vegas... HA HA!!

Green or Blue

My dad tells me that UCLA scored 40 points on Saturday after he snuck a UCLA onesie on Zach. After we put his Eagles onesie on him on Sunday, the Eagles managed to rack up almost as many points in penalties as they did in yards, to ultimately lose 16-3 to the Giants. In the six years, I have been watching the Eagles, it might have been the worst game I have ever seen. I think I need to get him a UC Santa Barbara onesie. We can't go wrong there, unless of course Zach starts acting drunk.

So tell me, does he look better wearing green or blue?
