No, he's not potty trained yet, but, we should probably start trying... When Zachy has to take a dump, he walks to an area of our house where he is out of sight from daddy and mommy. Last night, he starts farting a bunch of times (and laughs while doing it) in the living room. Minutes later, he runs (fast walk) to the bathroom and closes the door. At first, I'm thinking he wants to play a game. I walk to the bathroom, try to open the door and I am met with him slamming the door on me. I try to open it again. Again, he shuts the door on me. I start to realize that he may be pumping one out. Since I was not 100% sure what he was doing and since he wasn't letting me in the bathroom, I laid on the floor and looked under the door (to make sure he didn't walk away from the door to the tub). I see his feet next to the door and he is not moving. I then hear a grunt (learns from daddy - just kidding). After he was done, I was able to get into the bathroom and boy was there a smell - a duke of course. From what we have been reading, this is one of the signs of Zachy being ready to be potty trained. The other sign, which he does sometimes, is wanting to have his diaper changed after a duke. I feel that we are close to starting the process. Not sure how I am going to feel with Zachy making "accidents" on our floor...
Okay, this was crazy... Last week, and immediately before going to sleep, Zachy was farting. Not sure if it helped the situation by momma giving Zachy prunes a half hour before sleep. Anyway, we put Zachy in his crib and as usual, we leave. We hear him fussing a little, which is not that unusual, but we just ignored him. About 10 minutes later, I checked on him and he was sleeping. HOWEVER, his room stunk like s%^t. I sniff his butt and confirmed that he duked. So, I wake up Randi (yes, she falls asleep at basically the same time as Zachy these days - 7:30 p.m) and tell her that we need to wake Zachy to change him. We pick him up and he stays asleep. We put him on the changing table and he is still sleeping. We take off and put on a new diaper and HE IS STILL SLEEPING. He did not wake up at all during this process. It was incredible. We put him back in his crib as if nothing ever happened.
Here are a few pictures of the duke ... just kidding.
